IOT
(Internet of Things)
The Internet of things or M2M (machine to machine) is the way that physical objects communicate with other devices or systems, including data from embedded sensors, processors, software, and other technologies over the Internet or other communications networks securely and efficiently.
LPWA
Low Power Wide Area technology recently emerged as a new technology within the ever increasing portfolio of IoT Service. This low data low power solution is well suited to the specific needs of machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT devices.
Remote rural and industrial sectors that do not require the same speed or bandwidth of consumer cellular devices but favour lower power consumption are best suited to LPWA IoT SIM Standards.
These standards included LTE-M and NB-IoT both being adopted globally with network coverage increasing month on month.
LPWA is perfect choice for remote monitoring solutions such as water and temperature management, even more so where the reduction of power consumption of battery operated sensors and modems is key.

eSIM
(Embedded Subscriber Identity Module/Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card)
Sim cards for GSM Cellular and IoT applications have evolved greatly from the early SIM cards which were the size of credit cards to today’s standard NANO size seen in most handsets and modems. eSIM is the latest evolution that literally removes the need for a physical card owned by any one particular mobile network operator.
Whilst originally deployed in dual sim Smart Phones such as Apple Samsung and Huawei for users to add a second number/network to their handset, eSim has evolved to become the future go to medium for IoT hardware manufactures. IoT modems can be sealed against moisture and dust without the need for a SIM card slot that degrades the IP rating.
eSIM being mobile network agnostic means end users can move networks without the need to replace physical SIM cards.
Multinetwork SIM Cards
A SIM card that supports more than one network service provider, ideal for “Single SIM” mass deployment, as regardless of the geographic location of the IoT unit, the MNET SIM will lock on to the best or only mobile signal in that area.
At Comm-Tech we can provide a wide variety of MNET SIMs covering all major UK mobile operators. Vodafone ,O2, EE, and 3 and can be configured with a variety of data bundle sizes and security protocols. Static IP, Private or Public.

Managed Router
Where traditional “Fixed Line” data connectivity is a problem – temporary sites, rural/remote locations or offshore maritime applications causing connectivity issues – our range of IoT GSM managed routers and gateways could be the answer. From simple single network solutions to fully managed Multi Network business grade routers that offer fast reliable data connectivity with advanced real time monitoring, our solutions include data aggregation or bonding, QOS and VOIP compatibility. And with rapid on site deployment we can provide seamless data connectivity able to meet the demands of your business or application wherever you are.
Real Time Monitoring
As many IoT applications deploy hundreds or thousands of SIM cards to run their application it’s vital that these SIMS are managed within a live state real time end user portal.
Our portals detect and report unusual usage in realtime, the sim card’s actual geographic location and are able to support performance testing and real time fault diagnostics.
With our SIM management tools, our clients can perform a variety of actions such as cease, suspend and reactivate. However, if you prefer the management to be part of the managed service, we can either provide the power and control for self-management, or let us take away the strain and opt for a fully managed service.
