Apple iPhone 5S: ETA Summer 2013

Rumour mills are suggesting a summer launch for the seventh-generation iPhone. Whilst it isn’t confirmed that it will be the iPhone 5S, it seems likely to follow on from past trends. Early suggestions of potential improvements include a more crisp HD display NFC capabilities and wireless charging.

HTC M7: ETA February 2013

HTC are set to announce the M7 at the Mobile World  Congress in Barcelona next month, with a rumoured 4.7 inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 13 megapixel camera and HTC Sense 5.0 software.

Samsung Galaxy S4: ETA May 2013

The S4 is set to be announced with as much of a bang as its predecessor, the S III. Rumours include a giant 5-inch flexible screen after Samsung showed off their bendy screens at 2012 events!

Huawei Ascend Mate & D2: ETA April 2013

If even the 5-5 inch displayGalaxy Note II wasn’t big enough for you, Huawei have unveiled their 6.1-inch 720p Huawei Ascend Mate, with powerful processing capabilities, making web browsing and media playback easier than ever.

The D2 is an impressive ‘superphone’ with 1080p 5 inch display, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and a 13-megapixel camera. Phew! It’s no wonder Huawei have been touted as the ‘next HTC’.

Budget iPhone? ETA Late 2013

After the unveiling of the iPad Mini, it seems all the more likely that Apple may follow this up with a smaller or cheaper iPhone, particularly with the retraction of comments to the contrary by Apple Executive Paul Schiller. It has been suggested that Apple will cut costs by using a plastic design, similar to older models like the 3G or 3GS.

BlackBerry Z10 and Q10: ETA Q10 April 2013

Announced on the 30th January, BlackBerry have pulled out all the stops. The Z10 handset features a 4.2 inch touchscreen, predictive touch typing and expandable memory, whilst QWERTY keyboard advocates will enjoy the hybrid Q10, with a 3.1 inch touchscreen and full physical keyboard. The Z10 is available now, but the Q10 will not be making an appearance until later in 2013.

ZTE Grand S: ETA April 2013

Samsung Galaxy Note III: ETA September 2013

The phenomenally successful note range is set to be expanded in autumn 2013 with an even larger version, expected to be past the 6-inch mark. A flexible display is again likely, and Samsung have also hinted at a super-powerful eight-core Exynos 5 processor.

YotaPhone: ETA February 2013

Unlike anything else on the market, the YotaPhone is an Android Smartphone with 4.3 inch HD touchscreen. Flip it over and it’s an e-reader with a full 4.3 inch e-Ink display. Little is compromised on this handset with a powerful Snapdragon processor and impressive 12-megapixel camera.

HTC Opera UL – an ‘Official Facebook Phone’?

Not much has been revealed about this rumour except Pocket-lint exclusively stating that ‘a Facebook phone is in development, and it’s the mysterious HTC Opera UL device’. Watch this space for more information!

 

More Rumours – a Microsoft Windows Phone 8 Smartphone?

Whispers have suggested that Microsoft is set to combine their mobile hardware and software divisions following the success of devices such as the Surface, to create a Windows Phone 8 smartphone. A prototype Surface Phone is said to be doing the rounds, and we will be sure to update you when we know more!
